Penny has experience in a range of massage modalities.

Swedish massage for total relaxation and remedial and sports massage for any problems you may have.

The remedial and sports massage includes Trigger point therapy, which is a deep tissue massage for extremely tight muscles, tendons or ligaments, excellent for headaches, lower and mid back pain, neck, shoulder, arm and leg problems.

AND

Myofascial release, a gentler type of massage where she applies pressure and traction to the body in order to release tightness in the fascia. These restrictions in the fascia can cause pain throughout the body.

Aromatherapy oils are also added to the massage oil as each aromatherapy oil has its own therapeutic use. e.g. lavender for relaxation, rosemary for muscular and arthritic pain.

Problems which you may have and where Penny can help include:

  • Chronic stress resulting from life issues you are grappling with
  • Exhaustion/burnout from overwork – massage can totally relax you and help you become connected to your body and feelings and take you out of thinking mode or to do list mode!
  • Back, neck, shoulder, elbow or leg pain – whether it be from poor posture at the computer, a sporting injury or a fall, or it just happened!
  • Improved circulation in the legs – very important if you have been in bed for a while or cannot walk very far
  • Removal of phlegm on the chest from bronchitis.

So what happens in a consultation?

At an initial consultation Penny takes a full case history. If appropriate she then looks at your posture and tests muscles to determine what the problem might be. Penny then commences the massage and in some cases will give some suitable exercises for you to do to help the issue. If she cannot help you after a few massages she will refer you on to another professional.

At all times the room is a peaceful environment with relaxing music played. Penny is friendly, professional and compassionate and will listen to your concerns. Her aim is to make every customer feel better for seeing her and after they have left.
