Diet and bugs
Risk factors - Cut down on salt and sugar sweetened soda water and other sweetened drinks as these deplete gut bacteria.
Diet: Use omega 3 fish oils, mediterranean or vegan diet, probiotics, fibre rich diet plus some red wine to increase good bugs in the gut.
Other risk factors are smoking and peridontitis( caused by a bacteria) cause auto antibodies to be produced so time to go give up the cigarettes and go to the dentist.
A urinary tract bacteria is also thought to activate R A.
As a result some or all of the below strategies would be used.

Quite a complex process and can take persistance and many months to be in full remission.
