A) Echinaceae, Andrographis and Olive leaf

Research shows that Echinaceae can decrease the severity of colds from 9 days to 6 days and severity of symptoms by 23%. It also increases the number of white blood cells and acts as an immunomodulator for URTI, colds, flu, sinusitis and Strep throat.

Andrographis is an anti-inflammatory compound and is great for reducing symptoms of sore throat, colds, muscle aches, sinus pain, fatigue and swollen glands.

Olive leaf extract contains nutrients such as selenium, zinc, vitamin C and beta-caratene which are all great for viral infections and to strengthen our immunity. I suggest using a mixture of the above from April to October as a preventative and then use a higher dose at the first signs of a cold to nip it in the bud. Larger doses of these are needed at the first sign of a cold.

B) Zinc plus vitamin C

Both are crucial for normal healthy immune function. Lack of Vitamin C and Zinc can reduce the ability of the immune system to do its job. Under stress the body uses more vitamin C and Zinc.

C) Diet

Cut out all pale coloured foods such as bread, potatoes, pastas, rice, bananas and avocadoes as these are mucous producing foods. Also, high sugar foods such as cakes, biscuits and chocolate, excess alcohol, caffeine containing foods, artificial colours and flavours. Instead eat lots of vegetables, fruit and nuts, warm soups, fish oils and olive oil and fish. Organic food is the best.

D) Mushroom extracts

Have immune enhancing activities to stimulate the white blood cells to fight off infection.

I have all of the above products in stock.
