Well, it seems in a recent CSIRO report that 4 out of 5 Australians are not meeting the current recommendation of 5 serves of vegetables and 2 of fruit a day to reduce disease risk. And in a recent worldwide analysis it was found that greater benefits were  obtained by eating double this amount. That is a whopping 10 serves a day of fruit and vegetables! This reduced the risk of stroke by 33%, a 31% reduction in premature death, a 28% reduction in cardioivascular  disease and a 14% reduction in cancer. Well worth doing. Note: A serve of vegetables is 1/2 cup of cooked vegetables and a serve of fruit is one cup of diced fruit or a piece of fruit depending on size.
